"In this book Mike takes you through a variety of topics relevant to becoming a software engineer. It's easy to read due to a nice flow - even for a non-English speaker like me. The book has a hands-on perspective and lots of tips and tricks, do's and don'ts. About the author

I am Mike Nikles; I have led hundreds of job interviews and reviewed thousands of resumes over the last twenty years in my career as a software engineer. I also sat at the other side of the interview table plenty of times as my LinkedIn profile shows, including at my time at Google.

I work as a full-stack developer at Goldsky, where I focus on the developer experience – from the CLI to the APIs to the web app.

I'm also the founder of Webstone Technologies where we build webstone.app and Webstone Plugins to simplify full-stack web development.

Prior to that, I worked as a developer advocate and web team lead at Gidpot. Even before that, I spent a few years at Google, had my own business and worked at companies anywhere from two to hundreds of employees. I helped with critical first hires, tripled engineering teams and mentored others to become effective hiring managers.

You can learn more about me on Twitter @mikenikles or on my personal website www.mikenikles.com.
